All readings, including Maggie Humm's Dictionary of Feminist Theory

On-Line: Students will respond to a series of posts via email each evening concerning this novel. A MOO session is scheduled during the weekend to synthesize all readings from the week

1. Discuss readings.
2. Link themes to issues raised in technofeminism.

To prepare for next meetings:

Forthe special MOO Session:
1. Make sure you have read all materials assigned thus far in the class. Be thinking about the answer to these generative questions: How does gender figure in to the theory(ies) posited by the various authors we have read? How does this differ from Haraway's notion of gender? How does this work within platonic philosophy, as suggested by Plato in the Republic?
2. Continue working on final paper. Remember, you will present your topic to the rest of the class during the MOO Session.

For the f2f class:
Read LeCourt and Barnes's "Writing Multiplicity," Hocks's "Feminist Interventions;" Kairos 2.2 "Gender and Electronic Discourse"http://english.ttu.edu/kairos/2.2/index_f.html

***Students are reminded that the class is online during the week of July 19-23, 1999. A special MOO session will be scheduled for a time during the weekend. We meet f2f again on Monday, July 26.
